Criado em 1987, o Coral já fez inúmeras apresentações, mas uma ficou marcada em sua história. Foi na abertura da Exposição dos 65 anos de Sacerdócio de Dom Hélder Câmara, no Shopping Center Recife, em 1996. Foi o único coral que teve o privilégio de ter o então arcebispo de Olinda e Recife na platéia.

Atualmente, o Coral já faz parte do calendário de eventos internos e externos da Compesa. É formado por empregados e aposentados da empresa, bem como seus familiares e amigos. É regido pelo maestro Jadson Araújo de Oliveira, que desde 2001 está a sua frente, levando as platéias a vibrarem com suas apresentações.

O Coral Compesa faz parte do Programa de Responsabilidade Social da Compesa, que através do seu Coral vem demonstrando seu apoio e incentivo à música, buscando humanizar as ações da Empresa, proporcionando não só lazer como cultura musical aos seus funcionários, participantes e ao público em geral, através do canto coral.
